What is StellarHE?
StellarHE is a pioneering, transformative leadership development experience for Black, Asian, and Ethnically diverse (Racially Diverse) Leaders in Higher Education (HE). It has been designed to equip you with the unique leadership competencies and strategies required to respond to the distinct challenges and opportunities you face as Racially Diverse Academic and Professional staff, and to inspire you to take on expanded roles, and pursue leadership and/or promotional opportunities more successfully. It is our belief that successfully navigating the Higher Education landscape and positioning yourself for promotion demands effective personal leadership of self, others, and the wider environment.
What are the objectives?
The objectives of StellarHE are to:
- As a Racially Diverse Leader, provide you with renewed clarity of purpose, commitment, and strategies for pursuing your career in HE.
- Identify the behaviours you need to change, shift or grow in order to progress your career in HE.
- Challenge the status quo. It is not about helping you fix yourself so that you fit into existing norms, but about helping you learn how to progress in a system as empowered authentic leaders and individuals.
- Help you become agents of change for inclusion that proactively contribute to the creation of a high performing inclusive organisation.
What will we cover?
The virtual StellarHE is made up of 5 modules, each of which is divided into Virtual Workshops (VW) which contain a variety of exercises for you to complete in advance.
In addition, there are a number of Leadership Assessment Exercises you will undertake, and you will also receive 2 Borderless Executive Coaching Sessions.

What is the outcome?
By the end of the StellarHE you will:
- Have a clearer vision of the authentic values driven leader you wish to become and the skills, behaviours and mindset you need to improve your performance and increase your impact
- Feel inspired, motivated and better equipped to take more control of your career and begin to identify a plan of action and next steps
- Have developed deeper relationships with other Racially Diverse Leaders in HE, extending your network of key influencers and future senior leaders across the sector.
